How Do I Live With Gratitude?

What are some other ways to live a life of gratitude? I mentioned yesterday being appreciative of some simple things we often take for granted. Today I will be more specific.

  1. Be grateful each day that you are healthy. If your health is a challenge at the moment, be grateful that you are able to recognize that things can be improved and that you are able to take steps to make that improvement
  2. Be grateful for your family and friends. Even if you are not in a relationship or don’t have a family recognize that it is within your power to brighten someone else’s day. Become a volunteer, help an elderly relative, be a cheery person to be around
  3. Be grateful for your job, even if it is not what you really want to do – you are able to work – there are many that are unable due to illness or disability. If you currently don’t have a job, be grateful you have the ability to search for a job.
  4. Be grateful for the food we have and the clean water we can drink. There are many people in the world that have neither
  5. Be grateful for those little annoyances that we all go through at sometime. It helps you really appreciate the good times. You can’t have the good without the bad – they are two sides of the same coin.
  6. Be grateful that you are able to read and understand what is written

AND last but not least be grateful that you can experience all the emotions that you possibly can. Without the sadness, pain, joy, laughter, love and disappointments which we all can feel at one time we would not be able to say, feel and believe: “I am grateful for being human – I am grateful to be alive.”

I love this one. Sometimes I think we forget how lucky and blessed we truly are. Sometimes we can get caught up in life’s little “dramas” and fail to put the reality of that into it’s true perspective. I love being grateful and happy for my life, rather than unhappy, angry and depressed because life doesn’t sometimes go the way I expected. Being grateful is such a better, happier and calmer place to be!

Sometimes people let their life’s “little dramas” become all they focus on, and before long there are more and more dramas in their lives as that is all they focus on. To be grateful and happy for your life, as you are Robyn, is truly the best blessing you can have in your life.

Gratitude is sometimes a very difficult thing to have when you are consumed with things you want. It is good to take stock of what you do have in your life rather than the things you are yearning for.

This is something that I do everyday. After i wake up and before I go to bed, i am thankful for the people I have in my life and my ability to do the things I can. I am not able to get around as well as I used to, but I have so many blessings.

i think too many people focus on what they can’t do, rather than what they can
